My mom used to beat me with a hard shoe too...but she never put me into a freezer
I'm sorry to hear she treated you like that. I don't think I'll ever understand what could make a parent abuse their children or any child. A parent should love and care for their children, no matter what they do or say. I don't think I was ever beat up, but for 2 years of my life when I was 2 to 4, I would be locked up periodically in a basement.

If there was a TV down in the basement, I wouldn't have known how to use it. I didn't know how to do anything like that, or how to play. Just like any other abused child, all I knew was no and pain, and coincidentally, they were the only words I knew. My adoptive parents had to show me that it was alright to be a kid, to have fun, and that I didn't have to fend for myself, or rely on my sister who's only 4 years older than me to take care of me and my brothers. My life then was a living nightmare, and I just did my best to cope with it. Plus, I think there was an Angel watching over me, because when I was adopted, my doctors were amazed I had lived.

Its funny how we thought that abuse was normal...I literally thought that my friends got beaten by thier parents too for every little thing...a child should never be conditioned to accept abuse as a normal situation.

That is terrible! I can't understand why anyone would do those things, or anything like them to a child! I take care of mentally handicapped women, who act a lot like children, and sometimes I want to spank them (I never do, of course), but I would never EVER abuse them. When I have children of my own, they will be loved and cherished all the days of their lives.
My boyfriend would agree .
I was never abused as a child. I can't truthfully imagine what it feels like . I can sort of imagine, but not really.
